Sushi Cat is the game of my dreams

A hybrid of Plinko and Peggle, Sushi Cat takes two of my favorite things and puts them together to create an adorable if extremely simple Flash-based game. Those two things? Why, fat cats and sushi.

But yeah, you just click to drop the o-shaped cat, collect sushi, and land in a bin for bonus points. Get the set number of sushi before you run out of cats and you’ve completed the level. Onwards! There’s even a tiny story told, too, through c-word cutscenes, and the music is quirky and bouncy. Fun all around, really.

Ka-ching, ka-ching in BioShock

At the urging of Greg Noe, I popped BioShock back into the disc tray. It’s definitely a game that I’ve only ever been able to play in small chunks. Anyways, after dealing with the forests of Arcadia, I made my way to Fort Frollic thanks to Sander Cohen’s teasing and noticed some slot machines off to the side. Vaguely, I remembered there was an Achievement tied to them. Win a certain amount? Hit the jackpot three times? Not bothering to look it up, I gambled away $10 and on the very first pull, I kid thee not, I hit those magical 7s and unlocked the following:

Lucky Winner (10G): The player has hit the jackpot at a slot machine

If only it was that easy to get rich in real life, right?

Life is Hard

I highly recommend you take 45 seconds out of your day to play Life is Hard, a clear and funny homage to side-scrolling platformers of olden times. It won’t change your outlook on life or the current NBC drama involving Conan O’Brien, but it might just make you chuckle.

Spot the differences in these two covers for Dante’s Inferno

Here’s the copy of The Inferno by Dante Alighieri that I have on my bookshelf:

And here’s the new copy from Del Rey Books to hit stores very soon to coincide with EA’s take on God of War the epic poem:

Gee, I wonder what target demigraphic they going for with this one. Ultimately, it’s a bit embarassing. For everyone.

100 Videogames-themed Cupcakes

First, om nom nom.

Second, I was quite surprised to see Munchkin make this list.

Third, these 100 videogames-themed cupcakes look great and delicious, though some more than others. Zelda looks a little fugly. The Final Fantasy one could’ve tried harder. And that Sims guy looks like he was born to be a cigar shop statue or something.

Eh…who am I kidding? I’d eat them all.

Rocking the Weezer hat in Magician’s Quest Mysterious Times

You know what’s really hard to do? Photograph your Nintendo DS screen:

MagicianWeezer

I basically just wanted to show the world that I’ve been totally rocking a Weezer hat in Magician’s Quest Mysterious Times these past few weeks. See? Okay, okay…it’s really a “baseball cap,” but a guy can pretend.
